Need a vacation? Just can't find the funds to getaway?
In this struggling economy it's great to know that families can still find an affordable day of fun close to home with Lansing's "Be A Tourist In Your Own Town" event coming up on June 5th.
With passports only costing $1 allowing free admission into over 50 area attractions and hot spots along with rides on CATA just 50 cents, a family of four can experience
Greater Lansing for less than the price of one movie ticket!
New for 2010: Abram's Planetarium is back on board for some star-gazing.
Folks that haven't yet had a chance can check out the all new Lansing
City Market or take their best shot (bow and arrow shot that is!) at the
MSU Demmer Center. Maybe coolest of all though is the Over the Edge
Event also going on June 5th, being put on by the Team Lansing
Foundation (also a GLCVB entity). At Over the Edge people can watch
participants that have spent the last few months raising money for
charity rappel down the side of Lansing's tallest building, the Boji
Tower. At 23-stories that will really be something to see!
How it works:
For only $1 you can purchase a “Be A Tourist passport” which allows you FREE admission to more than 50 area attractions, local businesses, and special activities on June 5, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. **Ages 3 and under do not require a passport.
Get from place to place with CATA. For only 50 cents you will receive a stamp which will allow you to ride the Be A Tourist routes for the rest of the day for no extra charge.
